According to Statistics Korea's employment stats for 2019 released today, more than 27.12 million people found jobs last year, up 1.1% or 301,000 from a year ago, while the employment rate for the 15 or older population set a 22-year high with 61%.
When asked by Voice of America about Sweden's position in relation to Washington recently proposing to Pyongyang another negotiation at Stockholm, the spokesperson for the Swedish Foreign Ministry said that Sweden is contacting both sides to facilitate the dialogue.
The Korea Fair Trade Commission issued a correction order to Netflix after finding six clauses from the video streaming site's terms and conditions to be unfair, including the one in which Netflix can raise fees without subscriber consent. This is the first time that a fair trade authority demanded a global online streaming company to change its clauses.
A study by the Korea Institute for Health and Social Affairs found that high-income earners remained healthy about 11 years longer than low-income earners. The life expectancy and healthy life expectancy for the upper 20% of income level stood respectively at 85.1 and 72.2 years, while those for the lower 20% were 78.6 and 60.9 years.
