[Pkg]

A royal palace provides a peaceful respite in the middle of the city under the clear blue autumn sky. Visitors peer inside a quiet building. Displayed inside is a modern art piece comprised of bizarre shapes. This artwork emits a very different vibe from the ancient palace. Pretty flowers are displayed in this airy building. King Gojong's banquet hall has been turned into a charming outdoor theater and the cozy palace pond features colorful sculptures. The grounds of Deoksugung Palace in Seoul have transformed into a grand outdoor art gallery.

[Soundbite] JANG HYE-JEONG(ORGANIZER) : "This room features artworks by Park Jung-hae and Kang Seo-kyeong. I tried to show the two artists existing in harmony in one room."

In addition to the works of contemporary and modern art legends such as Park Soo-keun and Kim Whan-ki modern artists from Korea and Asia have submitted 50 pieces of paintings, sculptures, videos and installation art to be displayed all over the palace. Even the palace buildings have been opened up to show the artworks.

[Soundbite] OH CHAE-RIN, YUN JI-HYEON(VISITORS) : "We can feel more of the depth of the paintings than at other exhibitions. We feel like we're looking at artworks hung in someone's home."

The beauty of the ancient palace and thought-provoking modern art are combined to provide visitors with an unexpected peace of mind.
