With the annual state-administered nationwide college entrance exam two weeks away, the Education Ministry will conduct special quarantine inspections on private education institutions to help curb the coronavirus spread and create a safe environment for test-takers. In collaboration with provincial and municipal education offices, the ministry will conduct the inspections in 51 clusters of cram schools across the nation. Authorities will also ask private education facilities to avoid in-person classes for a week starting November 26.
The Central Safety and Disaster Countermeasures Headquarters warns the nation is facing a seriously precarious situation, as COVID-19 infections have been resurging since last weekend, raising chances of a second wave. It highlighted the increasing cases with unidentified routes show that nowhere is safe from the virus. The headquarters then reiterated strictly obeying anti-epidemic rules is the only way to overcome the crisis.
