Korean Air's Senior Vice President Cho Hyun-min has been suspended from her official duties over her controversial abuse of power. Korean Air announced the suspension, saying that it will take more appropriate measures as soon as the results of a police investigation come out. Police are continuing their investigation to find whether her misbehavior constitutes assault. Police summoned the employees of the ad agency in question to inquire about the direction at which Cho allegedly threw a glass of water. Police are planning to formally summon Cho if intention to assault is acknowledged. Amid these power abuse allegations, it has been revealed that previously Cho illegally served as an executive for Korean Air's budget carrier, Jin Air. Foreigners are prohibited from serving as executives of a national-flag carrier. However, Cho, a U.S. citizen, worked as a Jin Air executive for six years from 2010. The Ministry of Transport said that despite Cho's illegal service, it cannot cancel the budget carrier's air transport license for a past incident.
