Russia has announced that the entry ban placed on Korean nationals will be lifted on September 27th, the same day when international flights to and from Korea is to resume.

The Russian government says it's lifting its entry ban on Korean nationals from September 27th. The decision came some six months after all foreigners were banned from entering Russia in mid-March. Moscow earlier said that international flights to and from Korea will also resume on the 27th. However, Korean nationals must obtain visas from the Russian government in order to enter the country because the visa exemption agreement between the two countries has been temporarily suspended since April. To prevent the spread of COVID-19, Moscow banned foreigners from entering the country in mid-March and halted all international flights a few weeks later. Since August 1st, however, Russia has slowly been allowing more and more international flights, including routes between the UK, Turkey and Tanzania. Russia has seen roughly 6,000 new COVID-19 cases in a day, bringing the total to around 1.1 million as of Sunday. The death toll stands at roughly 19,000.
