The prolonged COVID-19 pandemic has been forcing performances, events and tourist destinations to remain closed for months. But many people are looking for good ways to have fun with their families during the long Chuseok holidays. Next, we'll share some tips on how to spend a great holiday while observing social distancing, such as enjoying drive-in circuses and playing traditional games at home.

Cars arrive at an outdoor performance venue one after another. The visitors are here to watch a circus performance without coming into contact with other people.

[Soundbite] "Let me check your temperature."

They scan QR codes to confirm personal information and follow staffers' direction to park their vehicles at designated spaces. After being canceled twice, the show was staged in a non-contact manner.

[Soundbite] CHOI KYUNG-AH(CIRCUS VIEWER) : "It is a good opportunity, since my son and I can directly enjoy the circus together on this beautiful day."

[Soundbite] YOON SEUL(CIRCUS VIEWER) : "I am thrilled to see what they are going to do on the crane."

Viewers enjoy the show without having to step out of their cars.

[Soundbite] "Look at that. Count how many he is going to set. One, two, three."

They clap and applaud at amazing acrobatic performances. This free event is on every Friday, Saturday and Sunday until October 11th. But you must make reservations in advance. Namsan Hanok Village in Seoul used to attract 20,000 visitors each day during last year's Chuseok holidays. But it will remain closed this year, as public facilities' operations are suspended in accordance with upgraded social distancing regulations. That is why, its operators prepared packages of traditional toys and games to let people have fun at home. Consisting of bows and arrows as well as tops and sets of the traditional game yutnori, the packages are mailed to those who order them online.

[Soundbite] YEON DA-JEONG(SEOUL NAMSANGOL HANOK VILLAGE OFFICIAL) : "People like them. They say the packages are very good for spending time together with families. School teachers also purchase them en masse."

This year's Chuseok holidays will be quite different from previous years, as people will avoid going out and abide by social distancing to help stop the spread of COVID-19. Check out these "non-contact" options to spend safe quality time during the five-day-long holiday.
