The Central Disaster and Safety Countermeasures Headquarters says it is too early to say the COVID-19 outbreak has stabilized, despite the lowering of social distancing restrictions two weeks ago. It especially expressed concerns about a possible resurgence of cluster infections, after Halloween is celebrated on this Saturday. The headquarters said South Korea saw some 75 new cases daily over the past week, which is up 13 week on week.
The Ministry of Land says prices of land grew 0.95 percent across the nation in the third quarter of this year. It is up 0.16 percentage points quarter on quarter. Sejong saw the steepest rise of 4.59 percent, followed by Seoul at 1.95 percent and Daejeon at 0.98 percent. The ministry explained land prices in Sejong jumped, as investments increased over the ruling party's proposal to complete the administrative capital amid a bullish housing market.
After a delivery worker died from overwork recently, courier service company Hanjin Express has decided not to deliver parcels after 10 p.m. starting next month. It will also use more employees to help delivery workers sort out parcels. Hanjin is the nation's first logistics company to make such a decision. The firm said it will increase both delivery vehicles and workers during a busy season like holidays.
