With several suspects in Kim Jong-nam's assassination having been apprehended, questions are arising about the motive and method of his murder at the international airport in Kuala Lumpur. Here’s our report.

Malaysian authorities have requested the Department of Chemistry to analyze the poisonous substance that was used in Kim Jong-nam's assassination. The authorities believe that finding out what substance was used in Kim's murder is essential for clarifying the background of the case. Chances are high that the assassins used an extremely toxic nerve agent called VX, which is stronger than potassium cyanide and is widely used by North Korean secret agents. The exact cause of Kim Jong-nam's death will be known after the results of his autopsy are revealed. Given that Friday is a holy day for Muslims, the autopsy results will likely be disclosed this Saturday at the earliest. On Thursday afternoon a high-ranking local police officer was spotted visiting the North Korean embassy to Malaysia. He stayed there for 20 minutes. The police officer apparently visited the embassy personally to exchange opinions regarding the ongoing investigation or the transfer of Kim's body to North Korea. At approximately the same time the Malaysian deputy prime minister said that Malaysia would hand over Kim's body to the North. Observers say that Malaysia had to make a politically correct decision in light of its diplomatic ties with North Korea, as the row over Kim's body kept escalating.
