We continue our series previewing South Korea’s Olympic teams ahead of the Rio Summer Games with a look at the national soccer team, coming off their 2012 Bronze Medal-winning performance. The coach says he is determined to win the upcoming qualifying match with Germany.

Frank and funny, coach Shin Tae-yong says everything in his daily life is fine-tuned for the Rio Olympics. Although Shin looks relaxed, he has already set strategies for defeating his team's opponent, Germany, at the second group qualifying match. Only by beating Germany can Team Korea finish first in the group and avoid Argentina in the quarterfinals. Son Heung-min, who used to play for the German Bundesliga, will play a crucial role in the upcoming game. Son will join the team in late July. To ensure Team Korea's victory against Germany, Shin will not deploy Son in the first qualifying match against Fiji. Instead, Son will save his energy for the match against Germany.

With his plan for winning an Olympic medal ready, the national soccer team coach will begin his long journey in Brazil on July 18th.
