KBS serves as Korea’s main disaster broadcasting station, providing disaster portal services in order to deliver information about weather emergencies in a faster and more accurate manner. KBS also provides a smartphone service which can be accessed anytime anywhere.

Through internet and mobile devices, the disaster portal service of KBS delivers real-time information gathered by the station's cutting-edge emergency broadcasting system. Users can download the KBS news app and install it on their smartphones. They can access the KBS disaster portal site by just touching on the weather emergency icon. On the weather emergency page, users can find real-time weather conditions at their current locations. Also, video of disaster-prone areas around the country are aired live via high-resolution cameras. Users can also find out about flight delays or cancellations at 12 airports nationwide and gain detailed weather information such as special weather bulletins or flood forecasts. The KBS Disaster Portal Service receives disaster information from 14 pertinent agencies on a real-time basis to provide the fastest and most accurate emergency information.
