Elegant traditional-style houses stand side by side. They are lodging facilities that Namwon City has established to lure tourists. Visitors can try their hand at making traditional fans and enjoy the Korean vocal performance called "pansori." The houses were designed and built by renowned masters who were designated as intangible cultural assets. The rooms feature diverse architectural styles of Korean traditional houses, including the styles of the Three Kingdoms and Joseon periods. Some villages in rural areas have been recommended by the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs as travel destinations this summer. One of them is Eoreumchi Village in Gangwon-do Province, home to a refreshing cave called Baekryong that offers visitors a respite from the scorching heat. The Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries recommends a fishing village in Susan-ri, where visitors can experience ocean fishing and canoeing in transluscent boats.
