An ancient grandfather clock made in 1905 combines with modern imagery of the clock's internal components as viewers are led on a trip back in time to when modern mechanical technology began to develop. An installation piece inspired by Renaissance era paintings brings back the spaces portrayed in the centuries-old paintings through a dialogue of lights and shadows.

[Soundbite] Park Yeo-joo(Artist) : "It can be an unrealistic space but the space is recreated in the modern context to deliver a new experience to the viewers."

This exhibition showcases media art that deals with themes of virtual reality to encourage active participation from the visitors. A program that interacts with humans addresses the hot button issue of artificial intelligence.

[Soundbite] Park Hyeon-jin(Curator, SIMA) : "The exhibition is based on virtual reality, a hot topic in today's society. The show seeks to examine how virtual reality materializes when incorporated not with science or technology but with art."

The exhibit features eight media artists from both Korea and abroad, and will continue through October 16th.
