While it’s not uncommon to find people reading books on electronic readers, a tablet or even their smartphone, many readers are returning to paper books. Up next, we introduce some unique cultural spaces where you can enjoy the pleasure of reading to the fullest.

This guest house is situated in a forest. Visitors recline on hammocks encircled by bookshelves, and read books. They are guests who are enjoying a so-called 'book stay,' in which they escape from their daily routines and spend a night reading amid natural surroundings.

[Soundbite] Lee Woo-il(Guest) : "I can fully concentrate on books, which are everywhere. The fact that I can enjoy such an environment is very appealing."

The number of guests at the lodging house is increasing each year as its reputation grows.

[Soundbite] Kim Byung-rok·Baek Chang-hwa(Book Store Owners) : "They really like the space, because it is combined with nature and a garden."

Summertime fun in the water brings to mind cool and refreshing streams. Now, a book store has opened for those who prefer reading over splashing around.

[Soundbite] Kim Eun-ji(Visitor) : "It is cool here. It's more fun because I came with my friends."

A glass of beer and a book offer respite for tired workers at the end of the day. With more people returning to paper books, book sales have rebounded for the first time this year, ending a three-year downward trend.

[Soundbite] Park Si-eun(Visitor) : "I come here when I don't feel like reading alone at home. It feels as if I am not alone, even though I am by myself."

As more varied and unique reading spaces become available, paper books are regaining their popularity among readers.
