Samsung Electronics' latest smartphone, the Galaxy Note 7, was unveiled in Apple's stomping ground of New York City. The Galaxy Note 7 is the first smartphone released by a major electronics firm in the second half of this year. Samsung's premier smartphone is equipped for the first time with an iris recognition feature, touted as a next-generation security technology. Samsung Electronics explained that the iris recognition function has further ensured the security of Samsung Pay, the company's mobile payment platform. The smartphone is also equipped with Samsung Pass, allowing users to carry out bank transactions using only iris recognition, without a certified verification.
