A new "Star Trek" sequel is out, and to promote the film the cast and the director made a stop in Korea. Here's more on the latest film releases.

Cheers from some two thousand people fill a red carpet event. Even the Hollywood actors, who are used to the spotlight, appear to be surprised by such an enthusiastic welcome from their Korean fans. "Star Trek" first premiered in the U.S. in the 1960s as a TV show and after several episodes and 12 big-screen installments became a sci-fi icon. It was the first movie to feature teleportation and faster-than-light travel, which have become essential elements of any sci-fi movie. The cast say that the secret of "Star Trek"'s prolonged popularity lies in its plot, which is based on the love for humanity and humanism.

The 13th big-screen installment of "Star Trek" is entitled "Star Trek Beyond," with a theme of "making the impossible possible." Space battles are staged to rescue the kidnapped crew after the starship Enterprise is destroyed by an unexpected attack, and the images of cities of the future look more spectacular and eye-catching than ever. The original soundtrack of the movie was performed by singer Rihanna. "Star Trek Beyond" has received rave reviews for its nostalgic, yet fresh, take on the franchise. Downtown Seoul turns chaotic because of a virus that starts at Seoul Station. This movie depicts the day before the events shown in "Train to Busan" happen.
It's about a missing girl, her boyfriend and her father looking for her.

[Soundbite] Yeon Sang-ho(Director, "Seoul Station") : "I received an inspiration from the daily bustle of Seoul Station. I wanted to make people ponder whether or not they can recognize when something serious happens to someone they don't know as we live in a society where few people care about others."

An animated film by Korean animation master Lee Sung-kang based on the story "The Snow Queen" by Hans Christian Andersenrecently made its debut. It depicts the adventures of a brave boy named Kai, who sets off to rescue his village from becoming completely frozen. Movie fans have much to choose this summer thanks to high-quality productions that have been released one by one.
