The KBS TV show "Finding Dispersed Families" was broadcast live in 1983. At the time, the area in front of the main hall of KBS TV was covered in tens of thousands of leaflets asking for help to find long-lost kin. This impressive scene has been recently re-staged at Imjingak near the military demarcation line more than three decades later.

[Soundbite] Ji Ho-soo(Member of Separated Family) : "I appeared on the show to find my elder sister, but unfortunately I haven't found her yet."

This special exhibition was organized to mark one year since the KBS TV show "Finding Dispersed Families" was added to the UNESCO Memory of the World Register. Videos that were taped at the time continue to move people to this day.

[Soundbite] Ji Chung-ku(Displaced N. Korean) : "It's very emotional for me. My hometown is right across the Imjingang River. I can even see its boundaries from here, but I can't go there."

Some of the stories of separated families have been made into 3D videos.

[Soundbite] Song Ki-yun(KBS UNESCO World Heritage Special Broadcast Team) : "Displaced North Koreans visit Imjingak frequently, not just on holidays. KBS decided to organize this exhibition to commemorate the search for separated family members."

The special exhibition will run through October 16.
