Music group SHINee is back with their fifth studio album after a break of one year and four months. SHINee's new album features the retro mood of the 1990s. The album's title track entitled "1 of 1" has mesmerized the eyes and ears of SHINee's fans. In addition to featuring retro-style music and costumes, the album also comes with limited-edition cassette tapes, which are hard to find these days. Here's the reason this idol group chose retro as the theme of its new album.
[Soundbite] Jong-hyun(SHINee Member) : "We tried to produce something new while maintaining our unique style. The title track was written in a retro style, which we had never tried before."
After winning fans' hearts with its trendy music for many years, this time SHINee is poised to rule the K-pop scene by singing retro. S.E.S., which used to be a top idol girl group back in the 1990s, is to reunite for the first time in 14 years. One of the trio's members, Bada, wrote on her social media, "S.E.S. will mark the 20th anniversary of its debut next year. We are preparing something special to celebrate our anniversary. We're still at the initial stage of our preparations, but we will let you know as soon as our surprise is ready." The fans of S.E.S. were excited to hear the news of the upcoming comeback. A source from SM Entertainment, the former agency of S.E.S., said that the agency will do all it can to make the reunion happen. Singer/actress Uhm Jung-hwa is also preparing to release a new album. Uhm Jung-hwa will make a comeback after an eight-year break. Her last mini-album, entitled "Disco," was released in 2008. The new album has drawn attention for featuring singer Lee Hyo-lee.
