Hyundai Motor is poised to take on the Brazilian SUV market with cars that have been developed specifically for the BRICS markets, that is, Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa.

Hyundai Motor unveiled its SUV model, "Creta", at the Sao Paulo Motor Show, the largest motor show in Central and South America. It's the so-called BRICS model that has been released in China, India and Russia.

[Soundbite] Automobile Journalist : "In Brazil, the competition in the small SUV market has becomefierce, resulting in growing sales and consumer interest."

Hyundai Motor managed to increase its market share to ten percent in just four years thanks to the popularity of its passenger car model HB20, which was developed for Brazilian consumers. The Creta model, which also targets BRICS markets, features a new design to cater to Brazilian drivers and is powered by two kinds of fuel - gasoline and ethanol.

[Soundbite] Angel Martinez(Director, Hyundai Motor Brazil) : "Just as the HB20 drew spotlight to the Brazilian marketin 2012, the Creta will also create a new sensation."

By releasing the Creta, Hyundai Motor is poised to create a sensation in the SUV market as well.
