Firefighters best known for going out and saving lives now have a new gig: modeling. Calendars featuring photos of well-built firemen are being sold to raise money for a good cause. Proceeds will be given to burn patients who live in poverty.

A man wearing a gas mask shows off his bronzed washboard abs. He may look like a professional bodybuilder, but these men are all firefighters selected to model for a calendar shoot. Their sculpted bodies are the result of painstaking exercise. The firemen worked out during their free time, on off days and on average over 3 hours every day to get camera ready.
[Soundbite] Jeong Jae-min(Fireman, Seongbuk Fire Station, Seoul) : "I never missed cardio exercise before breakfast or after working out.I lost about 19kg with this regimen over the course of 3 months."
Next year's calendar made with their photos and freely donated talent will be used for a special cause. All proceeds from calendar sales will be delivered to burn victims who urgently require support for treatment. Firemen constantly witness the brutality of fires and may well sympathize more than anyone else with the pain suffered by the victims.
[Soundbite] Yoo Hong-sang(Fireman, Gwangjin Fire Station, Seoul) : "Given the nature of our job, we can empathize more, albeit not entirely, with the suffering of burn patients. We also get frequently burned doing our job in the field."
Some 15-thousand copies of the firemen's calendars were sold in the past 2 years, and the precious proceeds enabled 25 burn patients to receive treatment. The 2017 calendar will be sold online over the next 2 months.
