[Soundbite] "Gangneung and Pyeongchang, please face each other."

A video call linking Seoul, Pyeongchang and Gangneung is made with the use of hologram technology. It creates the sensation of multiple people occupying a single space simultaneously. All of these services will be introduced at the 2018 Winter Olympic Games in Pyeongchang. In order to implement the technologies, 5G telecommunications technology capable of transmitting large amounts of high definition video data will be essential. Accordingly, a pilot 5G network will be established across parts of Gangwon-do Province by September next year.

[Soundbite] Oh Seong-mok(KT Network Division) : "We have been developing many technologies to introduce a unified 5G standard in Pyeongchang. The Pyeongchang Games will be the world's first 5G Olympics."

With the implementation of augmented reality and 360-degree video that goes beyond TV and mobile broadcasting, expectations are running high that the Pyeongchang Winter Olympic Games will be shown to the world in more diverse ways.
