In our next story, a little holiday cheer to brighten up your week. KBS TV held a live nationwide program to raise funds for the underprivileged. Let’s check it out.

Four-year-old Soo-hyun has a rare disease that causes the destruction of skeletal muscle. His father, who lives on basic living subsidies, refuses to give up hope.

[Soundbite] So Bang-il(Soo-hyun's Father) : "I wish I could earn money and buy braces for Soo-hyun so that he can walk safely."

KBS TV has held a live nationwide show entitled "Sharing Love, Giving Hope" to raise funds for the underprivileged, like Soo-hyun.

[Soundbite] "How does it feel to be part of this good cause?"

[Soundbite] "It's great to share the love."

[Soundbite] "These piggy banks were donated by young children who collected coins to help the needy."

More than three million U.S. dollars were raised between December 1 and 20. The donations have given hope to those in need.

[Soundbite] Donor(Daegu) : "Our employees have gathered this throughout the year.We hope the money will be used to help those in need."

[Soundbite] Donor(Jeollabuk-do Prov.) : "We will continue to participate in the healthy donation culture as Korean young citizens"

[Soundbite] Volunteer(Busan) : "We are grateful for the opportunity to share hope.We love you."

The fund-raising campaign will continue until the end of next month. Anyone can donate via phone or bank transfers.
