The story of the police officers who saved an unconscious 15-month-old baby is making waves on social media. The baby recovered consciousness thanks to the quick action of the police officers conducting first aid and quickly transported her to the hospital.

Near a police station...Two police officers are in a rush, as a car urgently honks its horn. A 15-month-old girl suddenly lost consciousness at 8:20 a.m. on December 17th.

[Soundbite] Ryu Seong-min(Mother of the Baby) : "My baby fell unconscious and didn't breathe with her extremities shaking. I was frightened and out of my mind. It was really a terrible situation."

One officer conducted emergency treatment by patting her in the back, and the other officer drove the police car to a hospital.

[Soundbite] Kim Ki-hwan(Hwanam Police Substation, Daegu) : "The baby was unconscious. We just thought that we had to save the baby. We didn't have time to think about anything else. So we conducted emergency treatment on her."

It took only one minute for them to arrive at an emergency room. Upon arriving at the ER, the baby began to gasp and burst into cries.

[Soundbite] Im Chang-soo(Hwanam Police Substation, Daegu) : "Since the hospital was close by, it was quicker for us to drive a police car than wait for an ambulance. We had to act within the window of opportunity."

At the time, her brother who was being protected by police at the station wept in relief at the news that his younger sister was safe. The story of the police officers has warmed the hearts of people, as related video footage spread via social media on Christmas.
