A bag of bread, cash, and a heartfelt letter were delivered to a fire station in Gangwon-do Province. An anonymous person has made this donation for the third straight year. Let’s take a look.

[Pkg]

In the nighttime darkness, a car enters the main gate of a fire station. A person disembarks, and the car disappears again a moment later. 15 minutes later, fire fighters discover a paper box and a bag of Korean pancake dumplings called "pulbbang." The box is found to be filled with bills and coins. The total amounts to more than three thousand U.S. dollars in cash. A letter was also included, recognizing the service of firefighters as protectors of the nation and expressing gratitude. The surface of the box is decorated with messages of support for firefighters, written in different penmanship styles. The anynomous contributor was found to be a woman in her 60s who sells pulbbang. This year marks her third consecutive yearly donation since 2015. The money was used for the welfare of all firefighters, through a formal procedure including a review by a fire department panel.

[Soundbite] Kim Nam-seop(Wonju Fire Station) : "We are very grateful. We will work harder for the public."

The warm message contained in the box delivered by an anonymous donor is helping to boost motivation among firefighters.
