Actor Hyun Bin recently played an elite North Korean commando in the movie "Confidential Assignment," showing off mind-blowing fight sequences. It was the result of four months of hard training at an action movie acting school. Hyun Bin himself did all of the challenging stunts from wirework acrobatics to dangling from a car.

[Soundbite] Hyun Bin(Actor) : "I wanted to make the scenes look better. I wanted to do all of them if it was not really dangerous. I focused on finishing the filming without sustaining injuries."

Another actor has become a newly minted action movie star in 2017. In the movie "Fabricated City," he flung himself down depending on a rope, and presented bold hand-to-hand fight scenes. He is Ji Chang-wook.

[Soundbite] Park Gwang-hyun(Director) : "I am really sorry for the martial arts team. But I have to say that Chang-wook did better than the martial arts team some times. He is an excellent action movie actor."

He captivated viewers with his realistic fight-scene skills in the 2015 KBS drama "Healer." When it come to action movie stars, we should remember Jung Woo-sung who set the example of action movie acting in the movies "The Divine Move" and "The City of Madness."

[Soundbite] Jung Woo-sung(Actor) : "I wanted to make action sequences more realistic without protecting myself and avoiding injuries."

Jung was so passionate that he devoted himself to the role and gave instructions about acting.

[Soundbite] "When you are in, I push you away this way."

There is another star who was so devoted to his role in an action movie that he didn't even mind getting injured. He is Kang Dong-won who played a hardworking, ardent prosecutor in the movie "Master." In the movie, he was a prosecutor who did everything he could to capture suspects. Kang did all his stunts and never avoided tough scenes, to the point he was said to have been sick every day.

[Soundbite] Kang Dong-won(Actor) : "When I was shooting action scenes. I got a fever and was sweating. So I drank cold water, which caused a stomachache and dehydration. But I had to drink cold water due to the high fever. I filmed for three days and was sick for a day. That was repeated."

The actors deserve applause for their passion and commitment to fulfilling their cinematic roles.
