A number of the hottest Hallyu stars are approaching their mandatory military service obligation. Some of them are doing their best to pack their schedule and engage in a lot of activities before they report for boot camp.

Lee Min-ho is the first Korean actor in line among many who will begin their military services next month. He went through a reexamination following two traffic accidents but he was eventually found suitable for active duty. Born in 1987, Lee can no longer delay his military service. He will begin alternative military service as a social service personnel starting May 12th. Four days later on the 16th, actor Joo Won will head to the army training center. Last month, he passed a test to serve in the police PR unit but he called it off and decided to voluntarily join active duty service, which made news headlines. He made the announcement himself in an online broadcast, saying he thought over the decision a great deal.

[Soundbite] Joo Won(Actor(Video Source: V Live)) : "All Korean men serve in the military. I will do my best there, fulfill my service and return."

Even the day before his enlistment, Joo is expected to attend a preview event of a new drama series. Lee Min-ho is also continuing with his packed schedule, including donating his talent for a documentary on the demilitarized zone near the inter-Korean border. His busy schedule is designed to minimize the effect of his 20-month absence and promote his presence to the very end before he leaves for service. We hope the celebs will strive in their respective areas to the very end before leaving to fulfill their military duties.
