Monday was Teachers' Day in South Korea. Next, we bring you heartwarming stories of former students reuniting with teachers who helped them overcome difficulties during their school days. Let’s check it out.

Ahn Hee-jung, a disabled stage actor, is busy practicing.

[Soundbite] "80 won was left today."

A special guest has visited to encourage Hee-jung.

[Soundbite] "Wow, how are you?"

She is Hee-jung's first-grade teacher, who never hesitated to take on difficult tasks to help a disabled student.

[Soundbite] Ahn Hee-jung(Actress) : "I drooled a lot, so my bib was all wet. She changed it without hesitation, despite the odor."

They fell out of touch after graduation, but Hee-jung sought out her teacher once again through great efforts, and they now continue to meet. Kim Sun-im, a middle school Korean language teacher, remembers her own teacher from many years ago every Teachers' Day. This year, Kim has again met with the teacher from her high school days who generously supported her during a period of aimless instability.

[Soundbite] Kim Sun-im(Teacher, Incheon Yeil Middle School) : "When I was aimless, she held my hand and advised me to become a teacher."

The heart-warming stories of Ahn and Kim and their reunions with their old teachers have been given awards in a public contest jointly hosted by KBS and the Education Ministry.
