In our next story foreigners and overseas Koreans, who are not yet entirely fluent in Korean, giving speeches on promoting the Korean language. This took place at a Korean speaking competition for expats where participants flaunted their skills.
[Soundbite] Na Do-yul(Overseas Korean Resident) : "Hey sexy lady, I am Gangnam-style."

Here a Korean speech competition for foreigners and overseas Koreans is well under way. Some 50 contestants from 20 countries are taking part after passing a grueling preliminary stage. Hand movements are an invariable part of any speech contest.
[Soundbite] "I gather my hands and shout with all my strength."
Contestants present various ideas on ways to promote the Korean Wave or Hallyu.
[Soundbite] (Contestant from Vietnam) : "Finding ways to better understand Korean culture in a deeper way is necessary."
A representative from India landed a fine score. She was determined to perform on behalf of her country's 1.3 billion person population.

In the expat community, Korean public speaking is known as "K-speech." The Korean government and related organizations will host similar K-speech events themed to promote Korean culture in Southeast Asian countries including Cambodia.
