Singer Choi Si-won and his family have taken to social media to apologize after their dog bit a neighbor in their apartment building. That neighbor, a woman in her 50s, eventually died from her wounds. The case has drawn a lot of attention in Korea, as Choi Si-won is a member of the famous K-pop group Super Junior.

A woman in her 50s surnamed Kim was bitten by her neighbor's dog on September 30 in her apartment building. She was attacked in an elevator by a French bulldog that entered all of a sudden when the elevator doors opened. Although the victim was with her family at the time, they were unable to prevent the accident, which happened in a split second. Kim underwent medical treatment and returned home, but had to receive medical help again six days later due to excruciating pain, and eventually passed away from sepsis.

The dog that attacked Kim turned out to belong to the family of the famous singer Choi Si-won of idol group Super Junior. As controversy arose, Choi posted a message on social media apologizing to the bereaved family of the victim. The singer's father also offered words of condolence to the bereaved family using the same method. He wrote that the family's dog escaped from the apartment when the door was open and attacked the neighbor. He added that the exact cause of the victim's death is unclear, because there might have been secondary contamination.
