Here at the Olympic Park World Peace Gate, the 1988 Seoul Olympics flame still blazes. A total of 2,018 banners flutter in the fall sky displaying various artworks of photography, calligraphy and Oriental and Western paintings. Under each banner, measuring one meter wide and three meters long, are writings by citizens wishing for a successful PyeongChang Winter Olympics.

[Soundbite] Lee Taek-sun(Seoul Resident) : "I felt that all Koreans should take part and make the Olympics a success."

2,018 artists, ranging from the old to the young, have taken part in this banner exhibition. The movement of the banners flapping in the air by the winds is itself installation art.

[Soundbite] Jeong Jun-mo(Exhibition Director) : "2,018 artists came together with their own artworks with hopes for a successful PyeongChang Winter Games."

When the exhibition ends late this month, the banners will be collected and made into environment friendly eco bags to be used to promote the Olympics. Artists are doing their part for the PyeongChang games to be successful as a cultural Olympics as well. Many events are scheduled including the Pyeongchang Daegwallyeong Music Festival and the Pyeongchang Biennale.
