US President Donald Trump had praised a Korean golfer by name during his speech at the National Assembly Wednesday. Park Sung-hyun, the newly crowned world women’s no. 1 in golf, is taking part in the Blue Bay LPGA tournament which opened Wednesday. Befitting her new title, she showcased some powerful shots.

Her caddy sports a green vest, a symbol of being ranked number one in the world. Park Sung-hyun embarked on her first day in the Blue Bay LPGA tournament. She caught the birdie in the 6th and 8th hole. She lost a shot at the 10th hole but managed precise putting on the 12th and 14th hole. With focused concentration, she was able to save another stroke at the final hole. Park shot a 4-under par 68 with 5 birdies and a bogey. She is tied at 9th with three strokes behind the front runner. Another Korean player at the Blue Bay tournament Yoo Sun-young meanwhile showcases impeccable performance with just 7 birdies without a bogey. Yoo is aiming for the tour title after 5 years. She maintains a sole lead at 7 under par while Choi Na-yeon is tied at third at five under par with five other players including Lee Jeong-eun.
