In an annual tradition, Korea’s firefighters have stripped off their heavy gear for the camera. Their strong, muscle-bound bodies will be featured in the 2018 edition of calendars for a good cause. All profits from calendar sales to assisting burn victims in need.

Tanned skin, a rugged muscular body, and six-pack abs...They are "buff firefighters" who have gone topless to pose in front of the camera.

[Soundbite] "A kiss for Daddy!"

One firefighter even took a photo with his two-year-old son. The photographs were featured in a calendar for the year 2018. The 12 models were the firefighters who had entered Seoul's buff firefighter contest this year.

[Soundbite] Seong Ki-hyeon(Gangseo Fire Station, Seoul) : "Firefighting is thought of as a hard and agonizing job. But I stepped up for this project to show the image of a strong and impressive firefighter."

[Soundbite] "Fire, fire!"

Firefighters have to be on call around the clock to deal with emergencies. But they took time out of their tight schedules to bulk up and tone their bodies for better-looking photos.

[Soundbite] Kim Yun-sik(Gangnam Fire Station, Seoul) : "The hardest part was going to workout when I was tired from working all night long."

Symbolizing the emergency call number of 119, calendars of these strapping firefighters will be sold at 11,900 won each. All the profits from the calendar sales will go to treating serious burn victims who come from low-income households. Sales profits over the past three years amounted to roughly 230 million won and 55 burn patients benefited from the firefighters' charity.
