K-pop idol group BTS is setting all kinds of records with its own style of music, becoming the first K-pop group to top the iTunes music chart. But before BTS, there was Psy and his global hit "Gangnam Style", which continues amassing views on YouTube, and has reached the impressive 3 billion view milestone.

K-pop boy band BTS's song took first place in the iTunes Top Songs Chart. Unlike the iTunes album chart, the top songs chart is based on the sales of individual songs. BTS's management agency says the remix version of the group's "Mic Drop," released on November 24th, rose to the top of the iTunes Top Songs Charts in 47 countries on the day of its release and in 50 countries the following day. In particular, the song took the number one spot for two straight days in the United States. This is the first time that a K-pop group topped the U.S. iTunes Top Songs Chart, indicating that BTS is further expanding its presence on the global stage. Rapper Psy's "Gangnam Style" fame also continues. Psy's management agency says the number of hits on the "Gangnam Style" music video on YouTube has surpassed three billion on the morning of November 26th. This is the most number of views recorded in any category on YouTube. Psy's "Gangnam Style" music video created a worldwide "Gangnam Style" syndrome...which led YouTube to raise its maximum view count to the quintillions. Fans congratulated the five-year record-breaking streak of "Gangnam Style" and wondered what kind of new record the music video would create next time.
