First-generation idol boy band G.O.D will release a special album on January tenth to mark the 20th anniversary of its debut. The upcoming album will consist of ten songs, including remakes of its hit songs as well as new ones, to showcase the past and present of the band. The group's agency said that with the lead vocalist Kim Tae-woo serving as a chief producer, all other members are taking part in the album production. Younger star signers such as IU and Henry are also lending support. G.O.D. has proven its solid popularity once again, as roughly 10,000 tickets for its concert slated for January sold out just in three minutes after they were put on sale. The nation's art auction market has sold artworks worth over 200 billion won this year for the first time in history. According to latest data from the Korea Art Price Appraise Association, the combined value of auctioned-off artworks stands at 213 billion won in 2018, up 24 billion won from 2017. This marks the first time in 20 years the value has topped 200 billion won since the domestic art auction market was launched in 1998. The association explained that despite a decrease in artworks auctioned and sold, the total trade value has grown thanks to a surge in the prices of artworks produced by blue-chip artists. The late painter Kim Whan-ki remained the most expensive artist, as his works fetched roughly 35 billion won at auctions this year.
