Ruling Democratic Party Floor Leader Kim Tae-nyeon asked prosecutors to speedily investigate special favor allegations surrounding Justice Minister Choo Mi-ae's son, saying it is not desirable to see unproven allegations fueling social controversy. While urging President Moon Jae-in to decide on the fate of the embattled justice minister, the main opposition People Power Party's floor leader Joo Ho-young called for the introduction of an independent counsel to get to the bottom of the allegations.
