According to Statistics Korea, the consumer price index rose one percent year-on-year to 106.20 in September, marking the steepest gain since March. The inflation rate has been in the one percent range from January to March before dipping to minus 0.3% in May amid the coronavirus pandemic. Statistics Korea said prices of farm products jumped due to the long monsoon but low inflation still continues affected by low global oil costs.
Billboard said Monday that K-pop boy band BTS' latest single "Dynamite" has ranked 2nd on its Hot 100 chart. The English language song debuted on the chart at No. 1 on August 31 and remains in the top rankings for the 6th week. The Billboard chart for the top 100 popular songs in the United States is based on online streams, sales and radio play.
