This ice factory is always busy when the weather is hot. The workers have their hands full making ice. They wear gloves, jackets and several layers of clothing.

[Soundbite] Lee Hui-geon(Ice Factory Staff) : "Everyone says it's too hot outside, but it has nothing to do with me."

The temperature in this distribution center must always be kept at 25 degrees Celsius below zero. Its large freezer warehouse where ice cream is stored is colder than the weather in the middle of the winter. Masks and ear muffs are not enough to keep the workers warm. Sometimes they are afflicted with ailments that typically occur in the winter.

[Soundbite] Han Do-chul(Confectionery Company Staff) : "It's called a cold fit. My body is very cold. My hands and feet are the coldest."

Workers at an indoor ski center create ice-cold conditions for those who want to beat the heat. Thanks to their efforts, visitors can enjoy winter sports even in the middle of the summer.

[Soundbite] Park Jung-hwa(Busan Resident) : "It doesn't feel like summer at all, because it's so cold in here."

To some people, the hot sultry weather means working in the freezing cold to keep the public cool as temperatures soar outside.
