Several dozen officials from the Defense Security Command raided the military's Cyber Command over charges of violating the nation's Military Secret Protection Act. Officials have obtained information on what they believe to be the source of the hack... outsourced services that formed the command's comprehensive data center. Investigators also secured user information involving some 32-hundred hacked computers. The Defense Security Command is looking into why the data center server was simultaneously connected to the Internet and the Defense Ministry network. Officials are also investigating why regularly held security checks failed to detect these loopholes. The probe is also examining why the leaked data was discovered two months after the hacking incident.Initial findings show that the first hacking attempt took place in early August but the military separated its internal and external networks only in early October. A ranking military official said the investigation will be extensive and will also involve the National Intelligence Service and the prosecution. Depending on the probe's outcome, a large number of cyber command officials could be subject to disciplinary measures.
