Volkswagen has begun taking steps to recall its vehicles that have been equipped with emissions-cheating software. The move comes 414 days after the Korean Environment Ministry ordered the German carmaker to recall its vehicles in November 2015. The Environment Ministry announced that it approved Volkswagen's plan, submitted on October sixth of last year, to recall two models of the Tiguan SUV, involving a total of 27,000 vehicles. As a recall measure, Volkswagen suggested replacing the software that controls emissions reduction mechanisms. The Environment Ministry said that it will receive from Volkswagen further plans to recall 99,000 cars spanning 13 models, adding that a decision will come within the first half of the year. In line with the latest recall measure, Volkswagen will, for the next 18 months, collect vehicles, provide delivery service and transportation fees, and operate a phone line for consultations.
