Skillful hands massage sore spots on shoulders and backs.

[Soundbite] "(Does that feel good?) Yes, it's great."

Senior citizens ache all over, due to their busy lives filled with farming and child-rearing. Thanks to the warm touch of massaging hands, they feel much better both in body and spirit.

[Soundbite] Yoo Sun-dan(Boeun-gun County Resident) : "My entire body aches even more because of the cold. I heard about the massage services and came here from the auditorium."

In another corner, people are hard at work sharpening blunt knives.

[Soundbite] "Wow, the knife is so sharp."

These visually impaired volunteers have no major difficulty communicating with the world through touch and sound, which can convey even the most subtle of sensations.

[Soundbite] Joo Chan-hyeok(Visually Impaired) : "It took me less time to work on the smoother areas. I feel it with my hand."

They may not be able to see, but rather than waiting for others to assist them, they've continued to help others this way for 13 years by using their special abilities.

[Soundbite] Hwang Ho-tae(Boeun Association of the Visually Impaired) : "We still function in so many other ways with our bodies. We want to show we can volunteer just the same as the non-handicapped."

Thanks to their generous sharing, the president of the visually impaired association in Boeun, Chungcheong-do Province has received a presidential medal as recommended by the public, with further praise pouring in.
