President Park Geun-hye has returned to the public eye, expressing her feelings about the influence-peddling scandal in an interview with an online news outlet. The embattled president took this opportunity to once again deny any wrongdoing.

Speaking out against the scandal engulfing her, President Park gave a one hour interview at the presidential office to an internet broadcaster. Park said that the Choi Soon-sil scandal was all about lies, misunderstanding and farce, with very weak legal grounds for her impeachment.

[Soundbite] Park Geun-hye(President) : "After watching this whole process, I got a feeling that this scandal had been organized and prepared for a long time."

Park denied the allegation that she and Choi Soon-sil shared the same financial interests

[Soundbite] Park Geun-hye(President) : "They concocted this funny term, "a single economic entity." But it's nonsense to say that we share the same interests."

When asked whether Chung Yoo-ra was her daughter, Park said it was a terrible lie. She added that although she saw Chung Yoo-ra when she was a child, it was only recently that she learned that Chung had changed her name. Regarding her impeachment motion, Park said she hopes for a fair process. She said she had not thought about whether or not to attend Constitutional Court hearings, but would undergo the special counsel's probe. Park did not provide any comment on the upcoming presidential race.
