Two days after the stunning attack, Malaysian police have arrested the first suspect in connection with the murder of Kim Jong-nam. Here’s more from Kuala Lumpur.

Malaysian police apprehended a female suspect in Kim Jong-nam's assassination at Terminal 2 of Kuala Lumpur International Airport on the morning of February 15. The woman was carrying a Vietnamese passport. Born in 1988, the woman's face was captured by surveillance cameras at the time of Kim's assassination. Sources say the suspect was identified on her Vietnamese passport as Doan Thi Huong and that she was born in the city of Nam Dinh in northern Vietnam. The suspect fled the scene in a taxi directly after Kim's assassination. She was apprehended when she showed up at the airport again two days later. The suspect is undergoing investigation at the Selangor police headquarters. Once her identity is confirmed, police will likely obtain significant clues on the background and motive behind Kim Jong-nam's assassination. Local police are trying to identify the suspect in a joint effort with North Korean and Vietnamese diplomats. Sources say that police have also apprehended and investigated a taxi driver who transported the suspects. The investigation is being carried out under tight security due to the sensitive nature of the case. However, they are facing hurdles, as neither the suspect nor the North Korean embassy to Malaysia are likely to cooperate.
