North Korea has unveiled an image showing the Tuesday launch of the Hwasong-12 missile which flew over Japan. The North threatened to continue testing missiles and launching them toward the Pacific.

North Korea repeatedly showed this image of Tuesday's missile launch five times. Experts believe the missile was fired from a fighter jet shooting range some 200 meters northwest of the northern airstrip of Sunan airfield in Pyongyang. North Korean leader Kim Jong-un watched the launch on an airstrip several hundred meters away. A monitor seen near the young leader shows the projected trajectory of the missile and the location of the striking target.

[Soundbite] Korean Central TV(N. Korea, Aug. 30) : "The ballistic rocket accurately hit target waters set in the northern Pacific."

North Korea has claimed the missile's performance as completely successful. It also said the surprise provocation of the Hwasong-12 was in protest of the Ulchi Freedom Guardian joint military exercise between South Korea and the US. The regime also warned it will fire more missiles toward the Pacific in the coming days.

[Soundbite] Korean Central TV(N. Korea, Aug. 30) : "Our leader said that through more ballistic rocket launching drills with the Pacific as a target, N. Korea must seek to deploy and modernize its combat capabilities."

Pyongyang also threatened to closely observe the words and behavior of the United States as North Korea will determine its next course of action depending on the US response.
