When watching terrestrial UHD television, viewers can catch up on popular shows they missed out on right on the spot by using the remote control. This is thanks to a new two-way, interactive service named TIVIVA which combines UHD television and IP-TV or Internet Protocol TV. The nation's three terrestrial broadcasters including KBS have signed an agreement with LG Electronics to cooperate on facilitating UHD broadcasts, and launched this two-way service starting Tuesday. LG Electronics will install UHD exclusive antennas free of charge through next March.

KBS plans to air live the PyeongChang Winter Olympics through the UHD service including the opening ceremony and popular events such as figure skating and short track speed skating. Through the new two-way service, viewers can watch the entire Olympic Games by using the "replay" function.

[Soundbite] Jeong Hwa-seob(UHD Service Steering Committee Chief at KBS) : "All of PyeongChang Winter Olympics events will be streamed via TIVIVA to help usher in an era of not only high definition UHD broadcasting but also broadcasts that communicate with viewers."

The two-way ultra high definition terrestrial television adopted in Korea as a global first is also drawing keen attention of worldwide broadcasters including those in the U.S.
