The college scholastic ability test, which was postponed by a week due to last week’s Pohang earthquake, finally took place on Thursday nationwide. Experts who chose the test problems say this year's test was similar in terms of difficulty level to last year's, but to the applicants it felt more difficult.

After finishing their CSAT, the students appear relieved, but they have different opinions on how difficult it was.

[Soundbite] Han Hyuk(Test-taker) : "It was difficult overall. Most of the applicants think it was quite difficult."

[Soundbite] Lee Seo-yeon(Test-taker) : "It was difficult, but it was doable overall, except for a few questions."

Experts who created test problems for this year's CSAT say that like last year, this year's test also featured basic questions, mostly from the high school curriculum.

[Soundbite] Lee Jun-shik(CSAT Committee) : "The questions are aimed at evaluating students' problem-solving, analytical and inquisitive skills in given circumstances."

The reading section of the Korean language test included advanced-level problems on economic issues. Some questions even featured graphs. The English test included a problem on artificial intelligence, but overall was quite ordinary. Experts say that the Korean language and math tests were relatively difficult this year, whereas the English test, which will be graded based on absolute evaluation for the first time, was easy.

[Soundbite] Lee Young-deok(Director, Daesung Inst. for Scholastic Achievement) : "This year's English test was similar to last year's. I believe there will be around 40,000 students who will score in the top ranking."

The final answers for this year's CSAT will be announced on December 4.
