It's not a secret that attractive packaging can help to sell products. The same applies to the sale of agro-fishery products and local specialties. Take a look at how different packaging can have an impact on sales.

This "gamro" tea tastes sweet even without sugar or the addition of artificial flavors. The tea and the herb called gondeure are local specialties of this region. Their sales have significantly jumped over the past three months. They are receiving renewed consumer attention, after their packaging was overhauled with the help of a supermarket chain store.

[Soundbite] Lee Seung-hoon(Company President) : "Sales have surged 150 percent, compared to last year, following the introduction of the new packaging, which has made it easier to promote and sell the products."

Hwang Joo-yeon makes bangjja yugi in Siheung, Gyeonggi-do Province, following in the footsteps of his grandfather and father. He is confident that he produces the best brassware in the nation. However, the sales of his products are unsatisfactory, due to their image as an old-fashioned item. In a desperate effort to boost the sales, he introduced a simple and modern-looking brand logo and packaging boxes with a local government's assistance.

[Soundbite] Hwang Joo-yeon(Brassware Producer) : "Yugi is usually associated with a strong image as a traditional item. However, they have sufficient merits as daily tableware. I changed and improved the packaging in order to make my products more appealing to consumers."

Following the adoption of the new packaging, the sales have doubled on a surge in demand. A more positive change is that an increasing number of younger customers are purchasing the traditional brassware. Attractive packaging designs are helping consumers rediscover good products and boosting their sales.
