South Korean CDC has confirmed the nation's first case of a new strain of coronavirus patient, also known as the Wuhan outbreak. The women who resides in Wuhan came in to Korea yesterday, and authorities have stepped up the infectious disease crisis level from "concern" to "alert".
It has been four days since Korean teachers went missing in the Himalayas in Nepal. The Education Ministry has set up a taskforce today to monitor the situation, and will cooperate with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to find the missing.
A regulation banning deposit loans for owners of apartments valued at more than 900 million won took effect today as part of the government's real estate measures.
Ancient palaces in the city of Seoul will be open free of charge during the upcoming lunar New Year holiday including next Monday. The Cultural Heritage Administration says Changdeokgung, Changgyeonggung and Deoksugung palaces as well as the Royal Tombs of the Joseon Dynasty will feature diverse cultural events during the holiday.
