Prime Minister Chung Sye-kyun has expressed concern over the rise in coronavirus cases which have recorded triple digits for the third day. He said it's particularly worrisome that some civic groups are planning to hold mass rallies this Saturday. Chung stressed the current level one social distancing does not mean people can lower their guard against COVID-19.
The Ministry of Patriots and Veterans Affairs said Tuesday that it has begun airing a 30 second commercial in 22 countries which took part in the Korean War to express gratitude for their fallen soldiers. This year also marks the 70th anniversary of the Korean War. The ads will appear at offline sites in Bangkok, London and New York's Time Square while online YouTube commercials will be broadcast in the other 19 countries. They will continue for one month and also appear on CNN and BBC.
The Financial Supervisory Service said that out of total bank wire transfers conducted in the year's first half, face-to-face transactions processed through bank tellers accounted for a mere 0.75%. This percentage dropped to just over 2% in 2015 and has now dipped below one percent. Meanwhile untact transactions have accounted for a whopping 99.24% during the first six months. But the financial watchdog noted that only mobile banking has increased while Internet and telebanking were on the decline.
