A cyber school has opened to provide various educational contents to the young people in a juvenile detention center. These students are trying to put their checkered pasts behind and reach for their dreams.

These students listen keenly to an online lecture. This classroom looks like any other, but it is located inside a juvenile detention center.

[Soundbite] Student at the center : "If I were outside, I would have caused trouble and lived recklessly. But now I can dream about going to college and see ahead to the future."

The recently opened Cyber School targets underage minors who came to the youth detention center after having been sentenced to probation for six months to two years. The teenagers whose futures were in jeopardy for making bad decisions can now find hope again through the online classes.

[Soundbite] Shin Dong-ju(Juvenile court judge, Euijeongbu Dist. Court) : "Teenagers had dreams, but had little means to realize their dreams. This program provides education necessary for them to achieve their dreams and have careers regardless of their economic conditions."

The court plans to help the young people take these Cyber School courses for free even after they leave the detention facility.
