The Korean team is hoping for more gold in Rio as medal hopefuls in taekwondo and women's golf begin their competitions. Here’s more from Rio.

Korea must maintain its pride as the home of taekwondo. A new game changer in Rio is that now even protective headgear is equipped with electronic sensors.

[Soundbite] Lee Dae-hoon(Korean Nat’l Taekwondo Team) : All players will probably try to attack the face. I also plan to focus on hitting the face."

Korea's national taekwondo team has prepared for the new rules and reaffirmed their determination to win.

[Soundbite] Park Jong-man(Head Coach, Korean Nat’l Taekwondo Team) : "We will get real close to the opponents for attacks. We practiced a lot on hitting the spots that would win points."

The country's taekwondo national team is getting ready to bring home the gold to help Korea finish among the top ten in the medal count. Restored as an Olympic event after 112 years, the golf event will see Korean women golfers playing for a medal. Led by LPGA Hall of Famer Pak Se-ri, the Korean women's golf team has the most members among the participating nations with Park In-bee, Kim Sei-young, Chun In-gee and Amy Yang.
