Interior construction has been completed for the office space to house the independent counsel team that will investigate the Choi Soon-sil scandal. Team officials began to move into the office on Monday. Space was also allocated at the office for the investigators to brief the media regarding the probe's progress. Ever since being tapped as the independent counsel, Park Young-soo has overseen preparations out of his own law firm offices. On Tuesday, Park and four assistant prosecutors all reported to work at the new location. Over the course of the special counsel probe, 105 investigators including Park and other assistant and dispatched prosecutors will be working at the new headquarters. It's also here that arrested suspects including Choi Soon-sil as well as corporate executives will be questioned during the probe. For security reasons, the independent counsel team has been examining records of the previous prosecutorial investigation into the scandal at a third location. All of its activities will be transferred to the new office within the week in phases. This includes the relocation of office appliances and investigation records. Key appointments to the special counsel team have all been made with investigators dispatched from the prosecutors' office also joining the team. The team will conclude its review of probe records this week and is contemplating when to formally launch its investigation.
